Varanasi, Prayagraj and Ayodhya form a natural pilgrimage triangle across Uttar Pradesh, and travelling between them by road makes it possible to cover all three in a focused two-night, three-day trip — provided the itinerary is sequenced well.
We typically start in Varanasi, since most travellers are already based there — a full day covering Kashi Vishwanath, Sarnath and the major ghats sets the tone for the trip. From there, it's roughly a 2.5–3 hour drive to Prayagraj, home to the Triveni Sangam, the sacred confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna and the mythical Saraswati.
The final leg to Ayodhya takes another 2.5–3 hours, where the highlight is the Shree Ramjanambhoomi Temple, followed by Hanuman Garhi, Kanak Bhavan and an evening at Ram Ki Paidi on the banks of the Saryu — a lovely, less crowded way to end the circuit.
Because the days involve real travel time between cities, we build in breakfast and flexible darshan windows rather than over-packing the schedule — comfort matters as much as coverage on a three-city trip.
